Summer Emerging Writer Workshops

This summer, the Eavesdrop team is hosting mini writing workshops to coincide with our talk series. For six weeks, we will talk about craft, visit prompts, and create work ready to read.

Preference will be given to queer writers located in the Cowichan Valley, and then Vancouver Island, but everyone is welcome to apply. There will be three sessions with a different facilitator in each session. We have 15 spots in total.

Commitment to a one-hour virtual workshop per week and any writing the facilitator encourages is required. Facilitators will choose a time that works for the group, but the sessions will be sometime in the evening after 6pm between Tuesday and Friday. Each session will have its own digital forum where members can share ideas, chat, and organize before workshop times. Each participant will have a piece workshopped by the group by the end of the workshop.

The goal is to have as many workshop participants attend an in-person reading as possible! If you’re nervous to read, this is your opportunity to gain some confidence in a supportive, fun, non-competitive environment ~

Fill out the form below to apply. We will be in touch by June 2nd*

SPACES ARE NOW FILLED. Thank you for your interest!
