Issue 2: embodied

The body, a leaf

Ashley Fish-Robertson

The crunch of your firecracker orange

corpse beneath heedless soles

stirs something in me,

a lyricless funeral song

I think of you only when you are

beneath me, like a transient lover

I mourn you only when the snap of your spine

ceases to sound beneath my heavy treads
